Gerardo Carrero (Gee)

Medium : Acrylic on canvas

Size : 16 x 20 inches

El Boxeador is a heartfelt tribute to Puerto Rican pride, childhood memories, and the spirit of combat sports. Inspired by weekends spent watching Tito Trinidad fights with his father and friends, artist Gerardo “Gee” Carrero channels both personal nostalgia and cultural reverence into this piece. At its center are a pair of iconic boxing gloves, boldly painted with the Puerto Rican flag—a symbol of national strength and personal identity. This work honors Gee’s heritage and lifelong passion for martial arts, blending memory and meaning into a vibrant expression of respect and love for the island that raised him.
